The Facility
The factory operates for 24-hours with three 8-hour shift pattern in line with the customer’s demand plan.
The average customer requirement is 2000 pieces per day to cover a production capacity of 650 vehicles on the customer’s production line and 50 vehicles for aftermarket fitment.
How It All Started
“When I was busy with my topic selection for my research paper. My research supervisor Dr Gqibani told me to come up with five topics that are dear to my heart because he doesn’t believe in suggesting topics to his students in areas where they might not be passionate about. “One of the topics was on investigating the challenges that hinders South Africa from having its own automotive brand, while we were busy discussing that topic, he suggested that I should read about the Automotive Industry Development Centre and try to understand localisation of Automotive Component Manufacturing’’
“Fast forward I did my investigation and joined the AIDC incubation programme”
Impact To Society
MH Automotive Engineering has created over 70 jobs for young people in Mamelodi and surrounding areas. Over 90% of our workforce is made up of people under the age of 35.
